So I did give up...
I know I said I wouldn't give up and try again, but I did. I didn't give up immediately! I tried a few other places and following the worst phone interview I've ever given and a move, I gave up. But I found a job, so It wasn't entirely giving up. Checkout Life with BrandiAlyssa: Working...Finally for more details about my new job!

Changing Plans
So, apparently the degree I had apostilled wasn't actually apostilled and the school can't wait for me to take the time to do it (it would be another 3 weeks, easily). That means I'm not going to Korea any time soon after all.
I am not giving up, though! As soon as my paperwork gets back, I'm applying to go abroad again though it may be several months off again. Bah! Time to get back to work (and find a temporary job).

Visa
Just after dinner tonight, I received a long awaited phone call. My visa paperwork arrived in Korea! But….
Visa + Shipping + Travel to PDX = $154. My bank balance = $102

Almost There!
Yesterday in the mail I received my last piece of paperwork needed to get my visa from Korea. I still need to get some passport sized photos tomorrow, but then the bundle of paperwork is off to Korea! 6-10 days to get to my recruiter, a day or two to get the visa confirmation number, and then a week or so to get to Seattle and back. Then I can leave on this new adventure!
So close!

Nerdfighter and some Korea Questions
Location:
Burns, OR, USA
I made another video! It's mostly me being a nerd, but there is a bit of South Korea relation.
Questions from the video:
1 - When are bills due? I am broke, so hopefully after I get paid the first time.
2 - What size are beds? I was told I should bring fitted sheets, but I need to know what size.
3 - I don't remember.

Testing Things
Location:
Burns, OR, USA
Today was a fairly productive day. I did two kinds of tests.
Test one involved packing everything I'm taking to Korea.
Test two involved figuring out filming and video editing. So I filmed me packing. It's not much, but I'm learning. And the music is epic at least. (Because John Williams is the man!)

Background Check Update
Location:
Burns, OR, USA
I'm fairly sure I did an impression of Neil Gaiman on the way back from the mailbox today. A short version of this:
Why? Because my notarized FBI background check came in the mail. I also received my apostilled degree as well. With the longest part of the process done (I'm fairly sure) I only have a few more steps before I'm finally off to Korea!
Another thing I got today: a new suitcase! Well, it's new to me anyway and it's in nice condition. It's plenty big and it's on wheels. Couldn't ask for better. Thank goodness for thrift stores.
